Domain Renewal Group Fraudsters

Expired

domanirenewalgroup-scammers-250pxOn a daily basis we see different fraudsters trying to part hardworking companies out of some hard earned cash.

While most of these fraudsters are lazy and send their requests in emails, we the odd time still see a physical snailmail spamletter coming through our letterbox.

Today I reveived an old fasioned letter from someone titulating themselves as "Domain Renewal Group" with a logo looking like the US flag (Probably to make it more official looking) warning me that one of my domains are about to expire. Up in the right hand corner of the letter they had the scary title "Domain Name Expiration Notice".

If you happen to get one of these letters, then simply throw this in the bin as it is a scam!!

Akeeba and Xmap maintenance upgrades

Expired

We today upgraded all sites to the latest versions of Akeeba Backup and the sitemap extension called Xmap. Current versions are therefore:

Akeeba 3.1.4

Xmap 1.2.10

These upgrades were mainly bugfixes, and upgrade of the sites was a part of the ongoing maintenance all our customers benefit of.

We of course did backups both before and also after the upgrades and finally downloaded a copy of the backups to our local servers for added safety.
