Numerous tests show that PHP7 is 20% faster than PHP5 in real-life production environments.
On generic tests, it can in fact be up to 200% faster. PHP7 is also more secure and has new useful features.
We have now upgraded all Joomla sites residing on our servers to this version accordingly.
Joomla recently released version 3.7.1 of their awardwinning platform.
We have a number of customer sites on Joomla 3.x, and within hours of this release we had upgraded all affected portals accordingly.

We have now rolled out encryption on all production sites hosted on our servers.
Why do we move in this direction?
HTTPS protects the integrity of the website, and it is also envisaged that it will benefit search engine rankings.

We are in the process of rolling out the use of SSL for all our customers.
This means that your website visitors and also the search engines will consider your website more secure to visit.
When this is rolled out, you will notice that the url have changed from http:// to https:// before your domain name. You will also notice the "green padlock" indication the same (see below picture)
websites that don't use SSL are normaly indicated with a exclamation mark ( ! ) as can be seen on the below image.
If you click on that exclamation mark you will get up a popup indication that the "connection is not secure"
The security aspect is one thing, but Google will also show preference to sites with SSL going forward.
Joomla yesterday released version 3.6.4 of their awardwinning platform.
This included fixes for two critical security issues.
We have accordingly upgraded all our portals to this new version of Joomla.
